Retirement / Transition Coaching

You have waited years for this. So why does it feel so empty?

I work with men approaching retirement or semi-retirement — either side of that edge — online and in-person in central Bristol.

Half an hour. No pitch.

Sound familiar?

  • Life has lost its certainty and meaning

  • The rhythm of your day has changed, and you can't find a new one

  • Your body and health are changing

  • You are not sure what your purpose is any more

  • You need a community around you but don't know where to find one

  • Your partner and friends say you have changed

  • You need to sort out your diet and exercise but don't know where to start

  • You are sleeping badly, drinking a bit more, feeling older than you are

  • You have a nagging voice that says it's too late to become anything else

None of this means something is wrong with you. It means you're in a transition — one of the biggest of your life — and you're trying to navigate it with no map.

Ari’s approach was a rounded and holistic one. My biggest takeaway was the tiny but critical changes I made around food and fitness that, even over six weeks, had an impact, and continue to help me. I’m very grateful for the work we did.

The real questions

When we work together, we start with the real questions

Identity

Who are you, when the job title goes?

Belonging

Where do you find your people, when work isn't providing them?

Meaning

What is this next chapter actually for?

Foundations

How do you rebuild the sleep, movement and energy that make everything else possible?

We work on all four. Because we all need a reason to get up in the morning.

About

I'm Ari. I'm 64.

I spent twenty years as a counsellor and clinical supervisor, helping people through the hardest transitions of their lives. I've since retrained as a coach and health coach. That combination matters: I can work with what's going on in your head and your life, not just your habits.

I'm based in Bristol, and I work with men one-to-one — in person or online.

I can offer a supportive role through the dark forest and out into the light of the next phase of life. A life with renewed purpose, connection, energy and health.

I would recommend Ari as a coach and found him to be professional, helpful, relevant, responsive and likeable. It was very easy to confide in him and to be honest and open.

How it works

Straightforward, private, one-to-one coaching

A free conversation

Half an hour, no pitch. You tell me where you are; we see if this is a fit.

1

We map the transition

What's ending, what you're afraid of losing, what you might actually want — often for the first time out loud.

2

We build the next chapter

Weekly or fortnightly sessions working on identity, meaning, connection and the practical foundations of energy and health.

— Fergus

Let’s talk

If you're within a few years of that retirement edge — either side of it — let's talk. I work online and in-person in central Bristol.
